Palatable local knowledge for the North Carolina diver

Greetings…

…and salutations! This is my first post, so you’ll have to excuse me while I get warmed up. Hopefully, as this endeavor continues, I’ll sound less and less awkward because, I must admit, right now I feel like the spelling bee champion who’s been asked to say a few words.

At any rate, welcome to my blog.

The intent here is to help you plan a dive trip to North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. As you peruse the site, you’ll find restaurant reviews, accommodation advice, gear remarks, dive site information, and a slough of random tidbits that I’ve picked up over time and think are worth sharing. It’s a work in progress, with new posts added at least weekly, sometimes more depending on my mood.

Bear in mind, the site is completely subjective. These are my opinions stemming from my personal experiences and preferences, and my “authority” is entirely self-granted. I do not publish negative commentary, adhering strictly to a policy of, “If you don’t have anything nice to say….”. So, if I don’t make mention of something, either I haven’t gotten around to it, or have invoked aforementioned policy.

That said, if you need more information or have additional questions, head to the Ask Lauren section and drop me an email. And, I’m open to suggestions. (Really, I am. I’m not one of those overly opinionated soapboxers who can’t take constructive criticism…though I concede that there are those who might disagree…).

If you have something you think I should add or change, by all means, let me know. Lastly, if you’re on this website, you’re clearly thinking about coming to North Carolina so let me take this opportunity to encourage you to do so. I can tell you with all sincerity, that on a good day, the diving in North Carolina is as fabulous as it gets anywhere in the world. Come see for yourself!
