Palatable local knowledge for the North Carolina diver

Blue Moon Bistro

Blue Moon Bistro is my favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy with the perfect blend of contemporary and traditional styling. The wait staff is excellent- polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. They pay particular attention to pairing food and wine, and they will gladly give you their opinions if you ask (and I’ve always found them to be dead on).

The Specials Menu features a fresh fish, prepared with just the right amount of seasoning (I hate when you can’t taste the fish…makes me think I’m eating cod pawned off as mahi mahi) and the house dressing is so good you forget you’re eating salad.

The problem with Blue Moon, though, is that their desert menu is irresistible, so you need to save room or else you will leave feeling as though you’ve missed something. My advice — get an appetizer, a couple of salads, one entrée’ and two desserts. The dress code is resort casual-collared shirts for men, capris/skirt for women. Expect $100/couple if you’re drinking and you’ll want to make reservations.
